ハロー S2000

My new car, a first year Honda S2000 (AP1)! I haven't had a chance to really push it yet, but the engine response is incredible, especially compared to the Imp. Only now do I really realise what turbo lag is. インプのレスポンスの悪さに慣れててヒール&トゥやるときオーバーレヴしちゃう。Power pales in comparison, but the handling has great potential. It's tuned up really well I think - the previous owner put alot of heart into it. The exhaust note is amazing (Kakimoto muffler), the suspension is firm but not jolting (インプの純正のサスよる硬いけど),the ECU gives good low-end torque which many say is the S2K's weakness, and the brakes are great. 最初にイジルとこ?ホイールが欲しいね。
So I actually owned two cars - an STi and an S2000 (バカみたいでしょ?), for two months, but parked on different ends of the city. Contemplating a more practical two-car life for the winter, maybe a old Estima or Odyssey or something. We'll see...
But anyways, now two months into life with a チョー不便 two seater convertible. Great fun!

バイバイ Imp

So after over four years, I've finally passed off my old car. That being a 1998 Subaru Impreza WRX STi version5 (GC8). やっと手放せて金銭的な負担(保険ぐらいか、駐車場を運良くタダだ使わせてもらったので) が無くなってよかったんだけど、長い付き合いだったので少し寂しい。
Because what a car it was (or is, as my friend who has picked it up will find out, as soon as he masters the stick shift. Taking it for a last spin the amount of power and stability on the road still brought a smile to my face.
Flat 4 'boxer' engine, intercooler turbo churning out 280ps, tons of torque (37Nm I think?), and 4WD. That unique boxer sound, crazy acceleration after 3000rpms, turns on anything. 45,000km of great driving. But all good things must come to an end, 違う車に乗ってみたい。。。

Debut作

After an almost 7 year absense from the net, I'm back. This blogging thing has caught my attention, and I hope my life is interesting enough to provide worthy content to cyberspace. I plan to write in both 英語 and Japanese. Depends on the subject, 気分にもよるし、but I figure 90% English, 10% 日本語。よろしく。Enjoy!
